I am constantly amazed by all the beautiful artwork that can be found wherever I look. When I look at the ground I see dense, dark soil and thick tree roots as I begin to glance up I see how the tree begins to become lighter and the branches start to reach out as though they could become free from the roots that hold them down, their leaves and branches flow with the wind. Behind them as far as I can see are clouds flirting about freely, defying gravity in a beautiful lightly tinted atmosphere.
Some of the great artist, such as Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, their lives were marked by financial struggle and personal tragedy, yet, they were passionate about creating art. Today their legacy and inspiration live on and their art is worth millions.
Today art is an intricate part of our everyday lives. Artists are committed to improving the human experience everywhere. Their contributions are evidenced in the movie and television industry. They design and develop material for print and web. Artists are an essential part of helping businesses of all types to develop identities and brands, along with advertisement and promotional material. Artists are building prototypes, for the scientific and medical industry; they design games and books for all ages. The stories they tell help to inspire people and they help others bring their vision to pass.
As an artist/designer who has a particular interest in web development, I performed a Google search for art and entertainment websites. I was drawn to the website of Aardman Animations. The studio was founded by Peter Lord and David Sproxton in 1976 while working on their first low budget project. Aardman Animations began by producing clay/stop motion animations and later began producing CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) animations. It is clear they were not just producing art for the masses, but rather they themselves had a particular brand of art. Their unique style of animating and storytelling began to bring them more and more success as evidenced in their first full feature animation “Chicken Run”. In 2005 they won the Academy Award for best animated film, “Wallace and Groomit: Curse of the Were Rabbit”. Peter Lord and David Sproxton, have created character’s such as Wallace who is an inventor, and Groomit his canine friend.
The overall theme of this site describes the history of Aardman Animations, where they started, what they are doing now, and what they are working on for the future. The site is biographical and demonstrates a complete portfolio of work they have done. It is professional, entertaining and reflects their unique style.
During my visit on this website, I saw an example of how following your passion can not only enhance the human experience but also lead to a very successful enterprise.
Is this is the first blog post? I've always been interested in art. I'll say I'm no good at it but I still like to see it
